Fundraising update Thank you to everyone who purchased lollies in the Pik N Mix Lolly fundraiser. From this the Home and School committee raised $1900 to go towards the students and school. At our Home and School meeting on Monday night Paul asked the committee on behalf of the Kotare syndicate for 3x mud kitchens. The Home and school Committee was able to approve this amount straight away from the support we receive from our various fundraising initiatives throughout the year. So thank you! From the fundraising events the Home and School Committee runs throughout the year the committee is able to provide the school and students with things that the limited funding from the ministry doesn’t cover. We currently have 2 fundraisers running – Oxford pies (orders due Friday 2nd December) and the Outdoor Kid book. For more information on either of these fundraisers please contact the school office. Winners of the top lolly sellers overall and from each class will be announced next week in the newsletter. Lolly orders can be collected from school Friday 25th. Oxford Pies Order forms were sent home last week for this very popular fundraiser. Get your order to the office by Friday 2 December. Delivery date is Wednesday 14 December. Thank you for your support. . |
Principal's Message
As we head towards the end of the year, school is a hive of activity. As the excitement builds and everyone scurries around to tick things off their lists, it is important to take time to pause and breathe. By the time our children turn 18 years old, they will have spent 93% of the time they will ever have spent with us. So it's important to slow down and not to let the moments pass us by.
Let's take the time to enjoy the build up to the festive season.
In 2018 we held a very successful transport day. We are planning to hold another one in Term 1 next year. Do you have any contacts who would be keen to bring their wheels to school and participate in a fun filled day? Please email us at: homeandschool@bombay.school.nz to let us know how you can help. Here is a reminder of what took place in 2018.
Tuhono are having a great time at camp. They had good weather yesterday and were able to complete their activities. We wish them well for the rest of camp.
Kakahu are off to Kawau Island next Monday.
Lukas and Lucy are making good progress in writing. I am very proud of you both. Ka pai!
George, Maia, & Caithryn receive their extra-pudding award for superb reading. They have lovely phrasing and expression. They sound wonderful to listen to and they are only 5 years old!
Scholastic Book Orders
Book orders close this Friday 25 November. Please bring your order with payment details to the office. Thank you.
Mini Gala
A HUGE thank you to everyone for their support of the Mini Gala held last Friday. We raised approximately $3300. This will go towards our 2023 senior camp.
I would like to thank Kotare for decorating our admin area. Christmas is 31 days away!
Keep well team.
Regards
Paul
We will try our best to accommodate your wishes but please note that it may not be possible.
The strict deadline for requests is 27 November @ 5pm.
Free Christmas Photo - offered by Dean Peppiatt
Local realtor Dean Peppiatt is offering a free Christmas photo for families. Photos will take place in the school office reception area in front of the big Christmas tree. It's a wonderful opportunity to get a good-quality pic with the whole whanau in the shot. Thank you Dean for your community-minded spirit.
You can scan the QR code below to access the booking form, or use this link.
Please note that this offer is not being organised by the school. This would be an arrangement between Dean and yourselves.
