Principal's Message

Kia ora whānau,

A quick reminder that Tuesday 3 June is a Teacher Only Day, following King’s Birthday weekend.  School will be closed to students on that day.  KAS will be open.

We will be holding a special assembly on Thursday 29 May at 2pm to formally farewell Mrs Batters.  All whānau are warmly invited to join us as we acknowledge her outstanding contribution to Bombay School.

School Camps – We Need Your Input Please.

At our leadership meeting this morning, we reviewed the projected costs for the 2026 Kotuitui and Kakahu camps.  Even with the generous $5,000 contribution from Home and School, we are looking at an estimated $500 per child.  We’re keen to hear your thoughts.

Is this cost viable for your whānau?  Should we consider holding camps every second year instead?  Are there other funding avenues or creative ideas we should explore?  Any parent is welcome to provide us with feedback.  Please take a moment to complete the short survey below.  Your feedback will help guide our planning.

Enjoy the long weekend when it arrives!

Ngā mihi, Paul Principal

Barbarians Rugby

We are proud to announce that Bombay School year 5 & 6 Rugby team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award at the Barbarian Rugby Tournament held on Sunday.  This recognition highlights the players outstanding spirit, respect, and fair play throughout the competition both on and off the field, even assisting another school with players when they were short in the final game. Congratulations to all the players and a special thanks to the coaches Dave & Tom for supporting the team.

Lost it -

Check the lost property

The lost property pile is growing in the hall foyer.  Please check it.  Also, ensure that items are labelled - so we can reunite the owner with them.  At the end of the term, we will donate lost property to the second-hand uniform shop.

Extra Pudding Awards

This week's extra pudding awards go to Jaidyn, Tyla, and Nevaeh for engaging story writing. These young writers are making good progress and I am very proud of them. Ka Pai Team

Home & School  Pie Fundraiser

Our fundraiser has launched! For more info head to:

https://bombayschoolpies.raiseit.co.nz/

to sign up for a fundraising page so you can start selling and help us fundraise. The Home and School Committee is raising much-needed funds for things such as Teacher Aides, Education Outside of the Classroom opportunities, and one of our big targets this year, to install new turf on the courts outside the junior classes.

Your support in these fundraisers, whether through purchasing or fundraising with friends, family, colleagues, or other communities, is hugely appreciated and directly benefits the children within the school including subsidising activities such as daytrips and camps. Once you have a page set up, share it with friends and family. After the fundraiser, Go Raise It will send you a report of your sales and you can pick up your products and use that report to get them to your supporters.
