2020 Board of Trustees
Voted in at the May 2019 election.
I am a Bombay resident and father of two girls, my younger daughter still attends Bombay school. I have been a school Board
member for the last 5 years, 4 of those as Board secretary and this year as Board chair.
Bombay school has undergone significant change in the last 6 years; new Principal, changes in staff, school layout, and teaching
delivery. I am proud of the changes that have been made and in the role the Board has played. Strong governance and clear strategic
goals have formed the foundation on which these changes could be made successfully. I’m equally proud that these changes have
strengthened the connections between the school and our community, and reinforced the special character and culture of our
I am co-founder and Chief Technology Officer for the Virsae Group, an Auckland based software development company that
provides service management software to customers world-wide. I have 30 years experience in the information and communication
technology sector and have enjoyed bringing this knowledge and experience to Bombay school. I understand strategic planning, and
offer experience in governance and management in both public and commercial environments.
I would appreciate the opportunity to serve Bombay students for another term.
Principal + BOT CEO
As Principal, Paul is the Senior Leader of the School Staff and Chief Executive Officer to the Board of Trustees.
Paul has 18 years experience teaching in the New Zealand system. He has taught in a range of locations and across a range of deciles. He was Deputy Principal at Macleans Primary and Manurewa West. Paul was Principal of Carlton School (5 Years) in Whanganui before joining Bombay.
Paul and Kirsty have two sons - Campbell and Liam who both attend Bombay School.
"As parents of young boys we very focussed on their education and on spending as much time as we can with them. We are delighted to join the Bombay Community and to have our boys educated in a school that holds on to its rural traditions."
Deputy Principal + Staff Rep
Susie is the Deputy Principal. As part of the senior leadership team, Susie leads the Senior School. Susie has extensive experience and is a key curriculum leader at school. She serves as the staff representative on the board.
I am married to Kylie Pascoe and we are the proud parents of 2 boys at Bombay School; Joshua (10)
and Flynn (8). Family life keeps me very active via bush walks and local community fun runs. Outside of family orientated activity I
am an avid fan of Ice Hockey and have played for the last 20 years.
I graduated from the University of Auckland in 1996 with an Arts Degree in Biological Anthropology. My career didn’t follow my
educational passions and I now work as an Account Manager for a German multinational engineering company in the field of factory
and building automation. As a part of my role I am responsible for budgets, project management, developing relationships and
health & safety.
What I want for and from Bombay school is an environment where children can be themselves and to find success. I want an
atmosphere where learning can flourish and personalities develop. I want our children to have a place where they will grow into the
best people they can possibly be.
Two things drive me on a daily basis; I am a massive advocate for critical thinking skills and I have a passion for equality. I’m often
accused of giving “another dad lesson” on some science or humanitarian topic. While core educational subjects are fundamental
essentials to any education, I also believe that extracurricular pursuits outside of academia (participation in sports, charity and/or
service to the community) need to be encouraged to develop well rounded future adults.
I believe as an elected trustee I can add value to the governance of Bombay School and I relish the opportunity to work with the
other trustees to achieve the best for the students, families, teachers and community of a flourishing school.
