OUTDOOR EDUCATION

2009 PROGRAMME

Our school has a strong commitment to Education Outside the Classroom.  Part of this programme involves school camps. 

Yr 1-3         Outdoor Education Week             Term 1 – 2 – 6 March

Yr 3            Sleep Over                                    Term 1 - Thursday 5 March

Yr 4            Chosen Valley - Ararimu               (1 night, 2 days) Term 4

Yr 5            Karapiro                                        November

Yr 6            Snow Camp                                 September

Yr 7 & 8      Wellington                                    Term 3 – week 9

Room 12 & 13 are going to Whangamata for 3 nights in Term 1

Class Trips

As part of the school programme, day visits, or in some cases overnight camps, are undertaken by classes.  Parents are informed in advance of these events, and permission is sought.

These are a valuable extension of the class programme and often involve a large amount of work and organisation, but have proven value to the children.

Please ensure your child returns permission slips to the teacher organising the trip promptly.  No slip, No trip.

Guidelines for all trips are outlined in the school policy book.  Parent help on such excursions and any offers of transport or supervision at these times are essential and appreciated.

Parents who use their car to transport children are required to complete a Volunteer Transport Safety Form to cover any transport for the school year.
