A Decade of Calf Club for these students
Bombay School students rewarded for nearly a decade of calf clubs

80th Calf Club Anniversary.  By  BRIAR HUBBARD/STUFF

These Bombay School students will have completed either eight or nine calf clubs after Saturday. It is also the school's 80th calf club anniversary.
It's that time of year where students can show off all of the hard work that goes in to training calf club animals.
This Saturday is a particularly special calf club for Bombay School, as it will mark the 80th anniversary of the event.
Grace will be stepping onto the field with her friesian-Jersey cross, Pixie, and Britt will be gunning for gold with her hereford-friesian cross, Bellatrix.
The girls are two of 14 students who have had animals for the past eight or nine years, and will receive medallions on Saturday for their efforts.
Grace said Pixie was often getting up to mischief.
"She's such a character, she will bunt my knees and lay down half way through leading."
Britt said Bellatrix loved to meet new friends.
"She has an obsession with other animals, if she sees another animal, like a goat, she has to have a conversation with it.
"Having the animal to take care of and accomplishing things, knowing you've trained it yourself."

Calf club co-ordinator Dianna Naylor said it would be a fantastic event.

"The bond that the children have with the animals, they just have so much fun. That's what it's all about, the children having fun, and they have to put in a lot of hours to do the job properly, with perseverance and patience.
"It's wonderful for preschoolers to come along and pat the animals, and especially for children who haven't had the opportunity to interact with animals."

Bombay School Calf Club  is on Saturday 30 Sepember - everyone is welcome.

Is your Year 6 child leaving at the end of this year?
If you are contemplating enrolling your Year 6 child at another school for Year 7 in 2018, could you please complete this form?  Although we would be sad to see your child leave the school, we understand that parents will make this decision for a host of reasons and we are keen to understand them.  We would also like to get an accurate picture, as early as possible, of our student levels for 2018.  This will allow us to advertise free spaces and to staff the school correctly for the next year.  Please complete our survey by clicking on the following link :
