Mumps-Important information
Food Tech Report
Today was another great day spent with your lovely students creating delicious food, this time Sushi and Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles/Pasta dishes. The students continue to enjoy experimenting with flavour and texture with the aim of good presentation skills in mind. They understand the process of cooking can be fun and interesting, while being in full control of the finished product themselves.

After four lessons in Food Technology they are also very aware of safety and good hygiene practices more now which is good to see. Many of them tell me that they have made some of the recipes at home too which is good to hear!

For their last lesson here of Term 3, they have been asked to invite guests here to Maramarua School between 12 noon – 1 pm for a shared lunch that they will be cooking and presenting to their guests. You are very welcome to come along for a delicious lunch too.

Next term the year 7 students will be in Hard Materials Technology with Mr Sean Allen and I will have the year 8 students in Food Technology.

Have a great week!

Kind regards
Michelle Gallagher

Sunsmart
As we gear up for spring ( when it does decide to show itself) we need to pull out our bucket hats and we need to begin wearing them.  To help us raise awareness of the harmful exposure times, we have added a new SUNSMART widget to the home page on our website.

Spare Uniform
Does anyone have any old uniform shorts size 4-6 that they would be happy to donate to Room 14 for spare clothing. If you can help, please send to Mrs Whitmore or drop off at the office. Thank you.
Chase's Journey
Chase's return to school is going really well.  Thank you to all of you who continue to support the family.  There will be trials and tribulations ahead. The road is not easy but we are a resilient community and we will continue to walk along side the family, for as long as they wish us to.  Chase is looking forward to going on the Wellington camp.
If you can help with providing meals for the family, please drop off to the school office before 2:50pm and txt Krystal on 021 125 5317, to let her know. Thank you for your continued support.

Is your Year 6 child leaving at the end of this year?
If you are contemplating enrolling your Year 6 child at another school for Year 7 in 2018, could you please complete this form?  Although we would be sad to see your child leave the school, we understand that parents will make this decision for a host of reasons and we are keen to understand them.  We would also like to get an accurate picture, as early as possible, of our student levels for 2018.  This will allow us to advertise free spaces and to staff the school correctly for the next year.  Please complete our survey by clicking on the following link :
