Is your Year 6 child leaving at the end of this year?
If you are contemplating enrolling your Year 6 child at another school for Year 7 in 2018, could you please complete this form?  Although we would be sad to see your child leave the school, we understand that parents will make this decision for a host of reasons and we are keen to understand them.  We would also like to get an accurate picture, as early as possible, of our student levels for 2018.  This will allow us to advertise free spaces and to staff the school correctly for the next year.  Please complete our survey by clicking on the following link :

North Group Cross Country
Today Tuesday the 23rd we went to the Pukekohe A&P showgrounds for the year 5 to year 8 North Group Cross Country. It was a great day for cross country but in some places it was still wet and muddy.
We began with the year 5 girls and Maddie came first with Angela close behind in third. Right on Angela’s tail was Olivia , Tess and Megan . Who together came first in the year 5 team event.
The year 6 boys also competed well to come second in the team event.
When the Year 7 girls race started I set a pace to run effectively. Through the first gate I was coming about 5th but then passed 4 girls as I climbed the first hill. I was then in second place where I stayed until I got to the back straight where I put on a much faster pace to pass the Waiau Pa girl to take first place. I stayed there until the finish line, winning by about 50 meters. Sam was 4th, Lily was 5th and Danica 6th ensuring that we won the teams competition.
The Year 7 boys were next, starting halfway between the year 7 girls. Some Bombay boys were at the right corner of the start line. I started at about 8th and all the Bombay boys worked their way up the hill. I got into 3rd and my mates were right behind me. We came down the bank and through the gate and I passed Max and the Waiau Pa boy so I was finally in first place. The other Bombay boys were right on my tail.  Powering over the line I was so exhausted. Hayden was 2nd, Max 3rd, Liam 4th and Connor was 6th. With such a strong effort we easily won the team competition.
The Year 8 girls began strongly with Bronwyn speeding straight into the lead. After one lap, Jorja was following in second and Britt was surprised to find herself in third place. This order was maintained until the end of the race when Pene raced in to take fourth place so we won the team’s event.
The Year 8 boys were back in the field a little until the first hill when Harrison and Carlos powered straight into the lead and crossed the finishing line in that order. The whole team, again, came first.
It was an exhausting day but all that training on the hill paid off!

Well done - Lauryn
Lauryn has had a fabulous 3 weeks taking classes with some of US and Canada's best known choreographers.  Lauryn and 7 other girls from her Auckland studio also had the opportunity to compete at the Showstoppers final at the Disneyland hotel in the solo and team categories.

Lauryn achieved personal bests in her solo results but it was their team that achieved something that no other Australian or NZ team has done - made the top 10 finals and got to dance in the American Loves to Dance finals.

Here is a YouTube link if you are curious (Lauryn wearing the green flowers).

Lauryn is off again in September to the Sunshine Coast for another large dance competition final that she has qualified for.
Congratulations-Max
Max attended the NZ Archery National Champs (Indoor) in Palmerston North over the weekend and won a gold and a bronze. He got to compete against some of NZ's best archers and people that compete internationally. Well done Max!
