Chase's Journey with Tourettes
You may recall that two weeks ago I wrote to parents to inform you that one of our students has developed a 'tic disorder'.
Since then the tic has become pronounced and doctors are fairly confident that it is Tourettes.

Following my letter to parents, many contacted me to ask how they could support.
Our community wants to help and we also want to be sensitive to the family and not overwhelm them - they need time and space to work through this.

In consultation with the family, a 'Give-a-Little' page has been set up.  This is the most effective way to help because it will enable Krystal (mum) to balance the demands of running a household while taking Chase to the plethora of doctors visits that are needed at this time.

His tics are exhausting and emotionally draining.  He needs his mum to be there for him and we can be there for them by visiting this page and pledging support.  {The family have consented to the use of their names in this newsletter.}

Thank you for your help.

Pukekohe High School’s Enrolment Evenings
Pukekohe High School’s Enrolment Evenings: Monday 7 August and Tuesday 8 August between 4.00pm and 7.00pm, and Thursday 10 August between 4:00pm and 8:00pm
The Board has approved 30 out of zone places for next year’s Year 9. Applications for these 30 places will close on 30 August 2017. If there are less than 30 applications by this date, all applicants will be enrolled. If the number of applications exceeds 30, the successful applicants will be determined by a ballot as is required by Ministry of Education regulations. Those regulations prioritise siblings of current students, next siblings of past students, next children of former students, next children of employees and Board of Trustees and then all other applicants.  If required, that ballot will be held on 6 September 2017.  The enrolment policy, including a description of the zone, can be found under “Enrolment” on the school’s website.

In 2019, out of zone enrolments will only be accepted for siblings of current students.

Year 8 orientation at Pukekohe High Thursday 7 December from 9am to 12.30pm.
