Red Poppies Please
On October 12, 1917, my great uncle was killed in a battle at Passchendaele. He has no known grave so his name is on a wall at Tyne Cot in Belgium, which overlooks the battlefield. 842 NZ soldiers lost their lives that day and 150 of them have their names on the same wall. I would love to take 150 poppies to Tyne Cot, one for each soldier, for the 100 year commemoration. Could you please save your poppy and send it to school on the first day of next term. I will make sure that your poppy is placed beside a name so no NZ soldier is forgotten.
Thank you, Mrs Rolfe.
School Syndicate Photos
Our School photo day was on 13 March and this year we were able to get photos of the four syndicates in the school : Kakahu, Kotuitui, Tuhono & Kotare.
There are copies in the school foyer for parents to have a look at - both formal and informal photos.
Teachers have order forms in their classrooms if children are wanting to purchase - they are $15 per photo for the standard size.
If orders can be back to school by the end of Term, then we can get them sent to Photolife for processing.
Cultural Festival
After an absence of a few years Bombay's Kapa Haka Team made a triumphant return to the Cultural Festival stage.  Well done Miss Clark, parent helpers and supporters. To our 45 strong Kapa Haka team, we are incredibly proud of you.                   2600 views on Facebook.

Whanau Evening : Kotare's & Tuhono performances
Kotare & Tuhono really tugged at our heart strings.  Least we forget reminded us of the tremendous sacrifices made by our forebears.  The gumboot song reminded us of what it means to be a kiwi.  Well done teams.
