School Fees
Statement for the 2017 school fees were sent home during the first week of this term.  Thank you to those families who have made payment.
Unpaid accounts are now overdue.   Due date was 28 February 2017.
We have already paid the following items to the suppliers, so would appreciate reimbursement:
            - Reading Eggs, Mathletics, Technology Fees, Fulton Swimming Tuition, Classroom stationery.
The school is unable to extend credit for non curriculum related expenses.
Last year we had a shortfall from unpaid accounts.
As a result the Board has decided to adopt a user pays approach to non curricular activities.
For example : No camp fee = Not being allowed on camp.
Non payment of Console Management Fees = Chromebooks being unable to be used on site.
The board realises that some families experience genuine financial hardship.  In such cases we ask that you make an appointment to see the principal to discuss a manageable advance payment plan.
The school cannot sustain losses.
Congratulations

Australian Exams

As many of you already know, the school offers these exams in Mathematics, Science, English & Digital Technologies.
The price for these exams have, this year, gone up from $8.50 to $9.50 per subject.
We have the opportunity to have the 2016 price of $8.50 if we send our entries in by 31 March.  We of course, would like to take advantage of this for you.
An entry form is below, if you are interested, please complete and return the form with payment by Friday 24 March.
Payment can also be made directly to the school account [12-3023-0473410-00] (please use reference 'Aust Exams') but you must return the form so that I know which exams your child is entering.

Cyber safety
Cyber safety - web filtering
With the proliferation of free public wifi, parents have being asking me for advice on how to monitor their child’s phone.  What they need is a filtering system that works no matter where the device is - home, school or out in public.   While I cannot endorse any product I’d encourage parents to look into products like Qustodio  : http://bit.ly/2mpSMtj
Look for products that filter content.
Set time limits for how much internet time is allowed each day.
Have strong reporting features,  monitor social media sites by allowing your to view status updates, pictures and friends
Sets a time schedule or limits for how much internet time is allowed each day
Allows you to decide which games and applications can be used and when.
Allows you to track your child’s Android, Kindle, Nook on a map.
Adds an SOS button to your child’s Android smartphone that sends you location-based alerts when there’s trouble.
See who your child calls and block unwanted numbers on his Android smartphone.
See who your child texts to, read text messages and set a list of blocked contacts on his Android smartphone.
Enable a full 30 days of device usage history.

Regards
Paul
