Sunsafety
Please ensure that your child has a school-approved sunhat and that he/ she is applying sunblock before school.  The sun is particularly vicious this time of the year, we are encouraging children to cover all exposed skin with sunblock. Classrooms have a supply for top-up application during the day.

Thank you for your support.
Kea Crossing
The school roll is 396 students, which is the highest it's ever been.  With an increasing roll, traffic management is coming more sharply into focus.  I've been meeting with Auckland Transport (AT), who are supportive of installing a Kea Crossing outside the front of the school.  They are going to draft designs and then we will enter a community consultation phase. After that A.T. will assign the project to a budget year.  I know that we would all like to know the dates, but it's not possible to put exact timeframes on it because of all the various stakeholders and their processes that need to be followed.  Rest assured though that the process has begun.  I'll keep you informed.  I'd like to thank Shelley Hoy for getting the ball rolling on this project.  Regards Paul
New Playground - Family Plaques
We anticipate installation of the new playground in early 2017.  Would having a family plaque, acknowledging your contribution, be of interest to you?  We are now accepting donations of $100 and above, from families who would like this legacy item.  The plaques would be located as a display in the retaining wall of the new playground.
A special (paper) notice, with a reply slip, was sent home last week - there are additional copies in the school office.
Thanks to those families and businesses who have already donated.

Genius Hour
Kotuitui students are working on projects/ causes that interest them.  An aim of these passion projects is to help students realise that they have a voice and that they can act to bring about changes that they want to see in the world.
Please support, if you can. Thank you.

Here is Danica's a project :

https://givealittle.co.nz/fundraiser/helprefugees

There are over 13.5 million Syrian refugees in the world and around half of them are children!  Do you really want to stand there and pretend you don’t know about it while THOUSANDS die each year trying to lead a better life?  Please help them by donating to UNICEF to help provide Syrian refugees with the necessities they desperately need by following the link above.

Thank you for time and consideration.

This request is from Danica, who has independently started a fundraiser as part of the Year 5/6 Genius Hour.
