NZEI Request.
The Government has proposed a change to the way schools are funded. It’s called the global budget.

This would mean Boards would have to make trade offs between the number of teachers they employ and other non-teaching costs. This could result in:

> fewer teachers and bigger class sizes
> the loss of any nationally consistent teacher/student ratios for year levels
> increased casualisation of teacher jobs which could undermine quality of teaching
> further downwards pressure on support staff pay
> removal of Government’s responsibility for issues such as class size and curriculum breadth
> removal of certainty about increases in funding to keep up with cost increases or population growth.

NZEI teachers are requesting parental support to oppose these changes.
All you need to do is simply sign the NZEI We Stand For Better Funding Better Learning postcard that will be in the school office and hand it back to Heidi or Lorraine for them to post. (They are bright blue and yellow - you cant miss them!)

For more information please check out the NZEI Better Funding website.

Thanks for your support.
